Epidemiological Criminology

The Virtual Center for Epidemiological Criminology (VCEC)

We are currently conducting a study, actually several studies, on human trafficking.  In one study we are surveying law enforcement and interviewing victims.  We also have a cross cultural international study.  The current research sites are South Africa and Florida.   In South Africa we work with the Department of Social Work and Criminology at the University of Pretoria.  In Florida the work is centered in the Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies at the University of Central Florida.  Soon we hope to add Russia and Turkey. We have a 20 member team and will be providing preliminary data and study results when they are available.  Contact Dr. Lanier or Dr. Brown at UCF if you have any interest.   Several articles and a book chapter are nearing completion and will be listed when they are published.
